Visit www.peda.org/sponsorships for updates.

Note: Once capacity has been reached for exhibitors’ table-top displays at this event, no further exhibitor commitments can be accepted. If a commitment/payment for an exhibit table is received after capacity has been reached, it will be returned or refunded as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

The Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) is classified as a 501(c)(6) association by the Internal Revenue Service.

Hotel Accommodations

The conference will be held at the Hyatt Place State College, located at 219 West Beaver Avenue, State College, PA 16801. To reserve your overnight room in the “PA Economic Development Association” block, at the discounted rate of $159/night, please either call 1-888-492-8847 or visit https://statecollege.place.hyatt.com. If booking by phone, reference the group name and the room block group code “G-PEDA”. If booking online, use this same group code by selecting Corporate or Group Code” from the Special Rates drop-down menu, then entering the room block group code. Reservations must be made before October 2, 2022. After this deadline or once capacity has been reached – whichever comes first – reservations will only be accepted upon availability at prevailing hotel rates.

Hot Topic Session

When the registration brochure was posted, one session on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, was left open in an effort to bring you the timeliest topics. We are pleased to report that the following session has been selected and is being added to the conference program currently under development.

  • 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm: Now What? | Insights into Action

Dr. Ted Alter, Professor of Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics & Co-Director

Penn State Center for Economic and Community Development

Lisa Elliott, Executive Director, Strategic Information Services
     Pennsylvania DCED

Cristy Schmidt, Applied Research Educator
Penn State Center for Economic and Community Development

Deborah Tollett, Deputy Director, Strategic Information Services     Pennsylvania DCED

Session Overview: In a dynamically evolving economy, how can we use data to provide insights, set direction, and initiate action that will strengthen communities and transform economies? DCED in collaboration with Penn State’s Center for Community and Economic Development (CECD) will provide a “sneak peek” at an initiative designed to help leaders answer this question and more.

Dietary / ADA Restrictions

If you have any ADA restrictions, dietary restrictions or allergies you would like PEDA or the conference venue to be aware of, please list them in the registration form or contact PEDA headquarters.

Early Bird Rate

Early bird registration rates will be honored only for registrations received and fully paid by the stated deadline. PEDA reserves the right to assess the standard registration rate for registrations received after the deadline or only partially completed by the deadline.

Young Professionals Sponsorship Providers

FirstEnergy logo    Team Pennsylvania logo

Through the generosity of FirstEnergy and Team Pennsylvania, two full conference registrations will be made available for young professionals. Please complete this one-page application and submit it to jskopp@wannerassoc.com no later than September 9, 2022.

Note: Any sponsorship awarded will only cover the cost of conference registration.

Change to Optional Walking Tour

Original Plan: During the registration process, individuals are asked to indicate whether they intend to participate in a walking tour. Please note the walking tour may be changed to a trolley tour and that a maximum of 35 people can be accommodated. Anyone beyond the first 35 people who express interest will be placed on a waiting list and contacted (in the order in which the registrations are received) if a space should open up. Thank you for your understanding.

Update: In order to minimize the impact of any bad weather, The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau has offered to rent a trolley for this tour. Instead of a walking tour, this means the excursion will be a step-on / step-off type of tour, which will actually allow participants to see as much as possible during the 3.00 hour window. Though the agenda is subject to change, the stops on this guided tour are expected to include Old Main, Rec Hall, the Nittany Lion statue, the Palmer Museum, the Creamery, the Sports Museum and more.

IEDC Recognition

This event is recognized by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) as a professional development event that counts towards the recertification of Certified Economic Developers (CEcDs).

All cancellations and refunds are subject to an administrative fee. No-shows will be billed in full. Substitutions are permitted, but rate adjustments (i.e., member vs. non-member, early-bird vs. standard, etc.) will apply.

Parking

Self-parking is available at the Frasier Street or Beaver Street Garages. Overnight guests of the hotel may park in either garage at a rate of $12 per night plus tax and enjoy unlimited exits. Guest room keys can be programmed upon check-in to provide access to the garage.
